Today we end (for now only, I hope…) the series of images of murals decorating commercial establishments in Reykjavík. We began with one of the most recent incorporations, in that newly established leafy soup restaurant, from a Russian artist, which may represent a trend towards increasing sophistication, and we continued with a couple of little, cute, more nonspecialist examples.
Today’s case is bigger in scope (extending beautifully for all the length of the building) and a bit more sophisticated, although simple in concept and performance, but just side by side with Fönix, one of the most powerful and inspiring creations of the local artist Sara Riel.
The venue is the bar restaurant Forrétta, in Nýlendugata 14, by the commercial harbour.
